Connect wrrk.ai to any AI app
Step-by-step setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, Perplexity, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT desktop, Raycast, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Cline, Gemini CLI and any other AI app.
Connect wrrk.ai to any AI app
Use your wrrk.ai workspace from the AI app or coding tool you already use: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, Perplexity, the Claude and ChatGPT desktop apps, Raycast, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Cline, Gemini CLI, or any other app that can add a remote server. The full guide, with a picture of each screen, is at https://wrrk.ai/connect.
What every app needs
Every app asks for the same few things. If a screen looks different from the steps below, fill it in like this:
| Field | What to do |
|---|---|
| Name | wrrk (or wrrk.ai where a display name is allowed) |
| Type or transport | Streamable HTTP (some apps say HTTP or Remote). Not STDIO |
| URL | https://wrrk.ai/api/mcp/connect |
| Authentication | OAuth, or Auto, if the app asks |
| Command, arguments, environment variables, working directory | Leave empty. They are only for STDIO servers that run on your computer |
| Token, API key, headers, client ID and secret | Leave empty. You sign in to wrrk.ai in your browser instead |
Then the app opens wrrk.ai in your browser: sign in to your own wrrk.ai account, tick the box to confirm the data-sharing notice, and click Approve.
Claude has an Add to Claude button, Cursor an Add to Cursor button and VS Code an Add to VS Code button that open the app with wrrk.ai already filled in. They only fill the form: you still check it, confirm, sign in and approve.

Any other app
Most AI apps that can add tools take the same few details. Who can use it: Any app that can add a remote server with sign-in. Apps that only run local commands can use a bridge.
Apps that take a server URL
For any app with a place to add your own server or connector.
- Open the app's settings for MCP servers, Connectors, Integrations or Tools, and choose to add a custom (or remote) one.
- Name it wrrk, choose Streamable HTTP (some apps say HTTP or Remote), paste
https://wrrk.ai/api/mcp/connectas the URL, and pick OAuth if it asks how to sign in. Leave the token, API key, headers and client ID empty. - Save, then sign in when the app asks.
- Your browser opens wrrk.ai. Sign in to your wrrk.ai account, tick the box to confirm the data-sharing notice, and click Approve.
Field by field for step 2 (Add a server):
| Field | What to do |
|---|---|
| Name | wrrk |
| Type | Choose Streamable HTTP |
| URL | https://wrrk.ai/api/mcp/connect |
| Authentication | Choose OAuth |
| API key or bearer token, Headers, Client ID and secret, Command, arguments, environment variables | Leave them empty. wrrk.ai signs you in in the browser and registers the app by itself. |
| Save | Click it |
Apps that only run local commands (advanced)
Needs Node.js 18 or later. Uses mcp-remote, a widely used open-source bridge that wrrk.ai does not maintain. Use a URL option instead whenever the app has one.
- Add this to the app's server config file and save:
- Restart the app. The bridge opens your browser to sign in.
- Your browser opens wrrk.ai. Sign in to your wrrk.ai account, tick the box to confirm the data-sharing notice, and click Approve.
For step 1:
{
"mcpServers": {
"wrrk": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"mcp-remote",
"https://wrrk.ai/api/mcp/connect"
]
}
}
}Their own guide: https://github.com/punkpeye/mcp-remote
Not supported yet
- ChatGPT Free: Adding your own apps needs developer mode, which is only on paid plans.
- ChatGPT phone app: You can only add it on chatgpt.com. Once added, it works on your phone.
- Gemini with a work or school account: Google only allows custom apps on personal accounts. Companies can use Gemini Enterprise instead.
- Perplexity Mac and phone apps: Perplexity only lets you add your own connectors on the web.
Good to know
- Your AI app sees and does only what your wrrk.ai role allows, and asks you before it changes data, sends a message or spends credits
- Look-ups are free; paid actions like lead searches show the credit price first
- The wrrk.ai data the app reads goes to the company that runs it (and, in a coding tool, to the AI model you pick), under your agreement with them. Full details: Privacy Policy, section 6A, and Terms, section 9A
- Every connection shows up in Settings > Connected apps, where you can disconnect it. Access stops straight away
Troubleshooting
- The form wants a command to launch, arguments or a working directory: you're on the STDIO option. Switch to Streamable HTTP (or HTTP) and paste the link
- It asks for a token or API key: leave it empty and choose OAuth. There is no wrrk.ai key to paste
- "Couldn't connect" or a 404: check the link is exactly
https://wrrk.ai/api/mcp/connect - The browser never opens to sign in: look for an Authenticate, Sign in or Connect button next to wrrk in the app's server list, or restart the app
- Approve stays greyed out: tick the box confirming the data-sharing notice first
- A tool is missing: tools follow your wrrk.ai role. Ask your admin if you need more access
